Her name was Sharon Hillegas. She was the owner of the theater in Harrisburg that hired me for all that work (Ain't Misbehavin'...The Fantasticks...Murder Mysteries...et al.). I'm pretty sure I spoke of her with you multiple times. Anyhoo, she came down with a massive infection. They couldn't pinpoint its origin. She was in ICU...then they got her to a manageable level and moved her to the regular unit...and then last Sunday she had to go back into ICU because her liver and kidneys shut down...and she passed at 5 pm last Monday. Her Memorial Service was yesterday. But, besides not having the money for travel, there was no way for me to take off of work and miss my show's first invited dress rehearsal. And no one told me about it until the day before, which I'm still a bit urked about. But I'm trying to keep in mind that, while she was a dear friend, there was no one at the service who required my presence (obviously...) and I can find my own path to closure.
